Red Potato Market is a retail store that offers beautifully curated collections of home decor, clothing, gifts and more! Owner, Laurie Cuthbertson, continues to live her dream in the 1929 historic building (formerly known as the Schultz General Store and most recently Foster Creek Veterinary Hospital) in Richmond, Texas. Through her love for everything home, an eye for design, and a love for people, you will find modern, transitional, modern farmhouse and eclectic decor accents in the ever-changing vignettes to inspire your lifestyle.
The boutique houses many great brands of decor, clothing, jewelry, accessories and gifts for in-store and online shopping. Our promise to you: to provide a stress-free, relaxed and friendly atmosphere for a memorable shopping experience. For some, we are a destination shop, for others, we are their local gift shop.
Red Potato Market was a dream born on a walk down the beach at a church retreat. Co-owners, Laurie Cuthbertson and Debra Sabrsula were asked a simple question, “What do you want to do when you grow up?” Almost taking the words out of each other’s mouths, the two women described a desire to bring to the country a place to gather, to shop, to learn and to make new friends along the way.
The original store was opened in October 2013 in Simonton, Texas, in a 1920’s Craftsman house surrounded by magnificent live oak trees. In the early 1900's, Simonton was the largest grower of red potatoes in the United States. Having both grown up in small towns, Laurie and Debra wanted to preserve a bit of history and so named the shop Red Potato Market.
In September 2021, business partner, Debra Sabrsula retired to spend more time with family, friends and travel. Red Potato Market grew friendships and a lifelong friendship in their journey that will be forever treasured.
